A song a day every day of my 25th year. I try to profile lesser-known and/or Canadian artists. My favourite genre is folk, and I generally go with whatever mood moves me that day. Some posts discuss the history of the artist or song and some are my reflections on the choice.

KaiserCartel - Season Song (HQ)
Like most folksters out there, I enjoy a good whistle. Luckily for me, there's an AWESOME whistle in this song. What another GREAT sunny day "feel good" song for this week. Somebody's avoiding the oncoming prospect of SAD... :-D
Lately, I've come across artists fundraising for their art. I think this is great! In the world of free access to YouTube videos, easily copied downloads of songs, and file-sharing, artists deserve to be making money from the people who enjoy them - you and me. KaiserCartel is among those artists - by pre-selling the album they are raising the funds to produce. Check out their website (by clicking on the title of this post) for details on how you can help them fund-raise for their next album!

Ok, I realize it's a little annoying to have a string of posts re: donations to artists, but it wasn't planned that way. Not much of this blog is planned... Regardless, this band is pretty awesome...and they'll still be fund-raising after the weekend. So, check out the song, think about pre-purchasing their next album to help them raise some funds to produce it...and, while you're thinking about that, go add your name to Joy Valencia's credit - only ten bucks and you get a name drop - how sweet is that?
ReplyDeleteOh, and then next week - after regretting not doing it earlier - go to KaiserCartel's site and help them out, too. Remember, generosity is contagious!
